Silver is Ilhan Ersahin's latest project and a bit of departure from his other musical undertakings. A group consisting of himself on Rhodes keyboards and Tenor Saxophone, trumpet icon Eddie Henderson, bass legend Juini Booth and drums/percussion sorcerer Kenny Wollesen. Silver emphasizes on mood and tone. The "bite-sized" approach of this ensemble translates as a string of 5-minute individual pieces.
 
Silver couldn't sound the way it does if it werent for the presence of two certified jazz legends in Eddie Henderson(a former member of Herbie Hancock's Mwandishi outfit and a solo artist and who has played with pretty much everyone in the jazz world since the early 70's. Juini Booth (a long time fixture on the jazz scene since the 60's who has played with everybody from Shelly Manne to Gary Bartz to Sun Ra). Theor capabilitiy to unearth deep musical truths stemsfrom decades of sharing stages and bandstands with mythical giants of America's true native art form. The Silver concempt also encompasses a visual element wherein each quiet, almost chamber music-like piece is interspersed with the raising and dimming of soft lights. This sets a mood that allows the listener to experience each individual statement separetely, similar to attending a musical wine tasting. Come taste the band!
